TikTok star Rachel Tussey has died following alleged complications in a “mommy makeover” procedure.
Earlier this month, Rachel’s husband Jeremy Tussey told TMZ that she’d suffered complications after a “mommy makeover” tummy tuck, which left her in hospice care. In a GoFundMe statement, the family alleged “medical neglect”:
“On Wednesday, February 25th, Rachel underwent a surgery that tragically resulted in an unfortunate situation of medical neglect. Following the procedure, she suffered severe brain damage after extended loss of oxygen and was placed on a ventilator under sedation.”
At the time, her surgeon Dr. Tork told the outlet the complications came seemingly out of nowhere, and denied any wrongdoing:
“I am heartbroken for Rachel Tussey and her family. My thoughts remain with her loved ones during this devastating time. Like them, I am struggling to understand how this could have occurred. Rachel’s surgery was completed successfully and without complications.”

He added:
“When I last saw her in the recovery room as she prepared for her planned overnight stay, she was awake and in excellent condition with her husband by her side. Out of respect for Rachel and her family, and due to patient privacy laws, I will not comment further.”
So devastating.
Sadly, after her stay in hospice care, she’s passed away at just 47. Her family updated the outlet on Wednesday:
“It is with deep regret and sadness that we share the news of Rachel’s passing. We would like to thank everyone, around the world, who faithfully prayed for Rachel and our entire family throughout this extraordinarily difficult time in our family’s life. The outpouring of support, from our community and beyond, has provided us with so much comfort at a time when it was dearly needed. We ask that our family be given time and space to grieve our unimaginable loss.”
The GoFundMe page also updated, with Jeremy writing a note to followers and donators:
“We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and generous support shown to our family during this incredibly difficult time. Last night, my wife Rachel lost her battle while in hospice care. Your donations, messages, and kindness have meant more to us than words can express. They have helped ease burdens and reminded us that we are not alone as we navigate this loss. Rachel was an amazing wife, mother, and person who touched so many lives. We will carry her memory with us always. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our family. Sincerely, Jeremy”
