On Sunday, fans of the Oscar-nominated actor held a lookalike competition in NYC’s Washington Square Park for a grand prize of $50 and a trophy… But the winner ended up getting WAY more than he bargained for!

After promoting the unofficial contest with posters around the city, a giant crowd assembled dressed as some of the actor’s most memorable roles… And when his lookalike was crowned, the unsuspecting doppelganger was surprised by a tap on the shoulder from the REAL Timmy! OMG! How iconic! And perfect timing as the 28-year-old has been in the Big Apple filming new movies.
The festivities didn’t last long, though, as cops arrived and scattered the crowd for gathering without a permit, according to NBC. One attendee — reportedly the event’s organizer — was even arrested and issued summonses. See fan footage of the police interaction (below):
