Tisha Campbell-Martin was granted a restraining order against her husband, Duane Martin, amid abuse allegations.
According to The Blast on Monday, on January 24, the Martin star filed legal documents against her spouse, claiming he began assaulting her six months after their 1996 wedding. She said the most recent incident was this past December when he allegedly “grabbed [her] by [the] arm to try to get [her] in the bedroom,” after claiming their son was sick.

Her affidavit read:
“I had been emotionally, mentally and physically abused. I kept things hidden from my family his family our friends and the public, save a few very close friends and people who may have witnessed, over the past two decades, filing it away in the back of my mind to protect my family, the community and the pubIic’s persona of my spouse.”
While she always believed she was a “strong woman” by keeping the alleged abuse hidden from close ones, she says she is now “scared,” and “can no longer live in fear of retaliation,” adding:
“The need to press criminal charges for his acts overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public through this report.”
On January 12, the thespian filed a police report with the LAPD claiming Duane attacked her after an argument about money. She “had trouble breathing,” when Duane allegedly pinned her against a wall and put an arm on her throat. It is unclear when this alleged incident happened, but it appears Duane was not arrested.
In another supposed incident, Duane allegedly said Tisha couldn’t get roles because of her weight. He allegedly said:
“She’s not Sherri Shepard or Kim Whitley… those girls know how to book for fat girls. Tisha can’t compete with them for those roles because she was never a big girl.”
Allegedly, this fight resulted in Duane punching her “with a closed fist” in the chest.
Additionally, Tisha accused Duane of running a smear campaign against her with allegations of alcohol use, depression, and menopause (?!?). However, she believes he is spreading these supposed lies to distract from the alleged abuse.
Because the order was granted, he must stay 100 yards away from her until their hearing in February. Their kids were not included in the protective order.
