Todd Oldham Is Still Going After Old Navy

Lawsuits can be a long, legal battle, and Todd Oldham knows that well.

Back in February 2009, the designer, who then served as Old Navy‘s design creative director, filed suit claiming the company had failed to negotiate in good faith.

Apparently they had planned to create a Todd Oldham signature line in addition to keeping him on his day-to-day post as creative director. The line never came to fruition, and Oldham filed suit.

Unfortunately for Oldham, the case was dismissed last year, but now it seems he’s back with a fighting chance.

A Manhattan appeals court reinstated claims by Todd that he was wrongfully terminated and his deal was broken.

The U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals stated Old Navy “made no argument, and pointed to no evidence” to challenge Oldham├óΓé¼Γäós claim that he was “repeatedly and widely praised” by management as well as failed to negotiate in good faith to launch the line.

Oldham was initially seeking $75 million in lost royalties and reputational damages but lowered the amount to $20 million.

What’s Old Navy going to do now?
