Negative spacing, which is essentially just a blank cutout, is making its way onto the nail beds of the hottest celebrities — and CocoPerez.com has an EXCLUSIVE tutorial to show you how to do it yourself!
We enlisted the help and expertise of manicurist Tom Bachik, who just so happens to have an A-list following including the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez.

You know, no big deal! LOLz!

Step 1.
Start by adding a nail vinyl to the center of each nail. This is where the negative space will come from when the polish is added over it, and then removed.

Step 2.
Add a shimmery, black polish for a base color to the whole nail; applying 2/3 of the way back, to the cuticle, and then all the way back over the tip of the nail.

Step 3.
With the black base dried, add your red polish to the area between the cuticle and the vinyl.

Step 4.
One finger at a time, take a matte, metallic polish and apply from the vinyl to the tip of the nail.

Step 5.
Remove the vinyl while the polish is still wet, as to give yourself a cleaner edge. And simply repeat steps 4 & 5 for every finger!

And there you have it!
The nails should have a black-red base, followed by negative space where your un-polished nail can be seen, ending with a metallic tip!
