Looks like Gwyneth Paltrow has a comrade in the war against Vanity Fair— and he comes in the form of a famous actor!
Many things have been brought to the public’s attention since Tom Cruise‘s $50 million lawsuit with Bauer Media began—but this bombshell involves his darling baby!
The 51-year-old actor’s lawyers sent an explosive letter in 2012 to Graydon Carter, the magazine├óΓé¼Γäós Editor-in-Chief, and Christohper Rozvar, the Web Editor for VanityFair.com, over the publications use of pictures from Suri Cruise‘s first photo shoot!
When the pics were taken in 2006, Tom agreed to a specific contract that provided:
├óΓé¼┼ô…Vanity Fair with a limited license to publish photographs of his daughter Suri taken by Annie Leibovitz in its October 2006 issue.├óΓé¼┬¥
The following year, Tom allowed one additional photo to be used in a coffee table book published by the mag…But that’s it!
Unfortunately, pictures of Suri appeared on VanityFair.com years later, and Tom’s entire legal staff flipped, which prompted a terse letter stating:
“It has come to our attention that Vanity Fair is exploiting the Suri Photos on its Internet website in numerous ways, all of them exceeding the scope of the magazine’s limited license and in violation of the Agreement. Vanity Fair had no permission to use any of the Suri Photos in the above-referenced manner…Vanity Fair‘s unpermitted use constitutes a material breach of the agreement and accordingly, Mr. Cruise has hereby elected to terminate, revoke, and rescind Vanity Fair’s limited license to use the Suri photos.”
The legal eagles demanded an immediate “cease and desist” from the use of all photos, and if ever used again, the lawyers threatened to assist Cruise in obtaining up to $150,000 in damages per photo from the magazine.
We think it’s truly precious parenting when a father protects their daughter, but all this drama is CRAY!
There’s very little hope things will quiet down for this mega-celeb anytime soon!
