We couldn’t believe what Walmart‘s response was to the injured comedian’s lawsuit — and we don’t think he can either!
Tracy Morgan decided to make a statement following the response that Walmart made this week, indicating they blamed Tracy for the accident that left him in critical condition!

The company’s lawyers said on Monday in a filing that the accident was “caused, in whole or in part, by plaintiffs’ failure to properly wear an appropriate available seat belt restraint device,” and that Morgan and the other people in the car “acted unreasonably and in disregard of (their) own best interests.”
Well, Tracy has fired back and it sounds like he’s upset! And we don’t blame him!
Here’s what Tracy Morgan said in a statement on Tuesday:
“After I heard what Walmart said in court I felt I had to speak out. I can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused. My friends and I were doing nothing wrong. I want to thank my fans for sticking with me during this difficult time. I love you all. I’m fighting hard every day to get back.”
We’re glad to hear that Tracy WON’T be taking this lying down, and it sounds like he’s ready for battle with the super-duper chain stores.
And if that’s the case then we’re assuming he’s recovered a ton from his injuries that he sustained in the car wreck that left one of his friends dead and his own life in serious danger!
Sounds like Walmart kind of backed down, as well, since their original filing. They said in a statement on Tuesday:
“Walmart is committed to working to resolve all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident. As part of the ordinary course of legal proceedings, Walmart filed an initial response yesterday to the lawsuit that included facts and defenses that may impact the case moving forward. While we were required to respond to the lawsuit, we have also taken steps to encourage settlement discussions. Our thoughts continue to go out to everyone involved, and we remain committed to doing what’s right.”
Sounds like some legal mumbo jumbo to us!
This defense of no-seatbelt argument that they’re going with isn’t even allowed in 30 states, but unfortunately it IS a valid thing in New Jersey!
However, this ain’t over yet!
We’ll see them and Tracy in court! Because this willful comedian WON’T back down!
And we LOVE that about him! Good luck, Tracy!!!
