Woo hoo!
Colorado, you’ve impressed us again!
You may remember the story of transgender 6-year-old Coy Mathis who was banned from using the girls bathroom at Eagleside Elementary School.
Well she’s finally won the right to pee in her restroom of choice!
The Colorado Civil Rights Division ruled in favor of Mathis, and now she can return to school, since she’s been homeschooled in the meantime.
Her mother, Kathryn Mathis stated:
“Schools should not discriminate against their students, and we are thrilled that Coy can return to school and put this behind her. All we ever wanted was for Coy’s school to treat her the same as other little girls. We are extremely happy that she now will be treated equally.├óΓé¼┬¥
We are thrilled too!
This is a huge step for all kids who face the same problem as Coy.
Good job, Colorado!
