Travis Kelce‘s most recent Instagram post was not well-timed, according to some fans…
On Wednesday, when the United States woke up to the news that Donald Trump had beaten Kamala Harris in the race for president, the Kansas City Chiefs star — like many celebs — posted some thoughts and feelings. The gallery of photos, however, wasn’t a response to the election in any sense. No, the 34-year-old was sharing some snaps from Monday night’s football game, where KC defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fans were not impressed with this post in the slightest! Given his girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s strong support of Kamala Harris, we guess they thought he’d post his disappointment? Or take a moment of silence at least? The comments were filled to the brim with social media users calling him out for bad timing:
“Read the room”
“This is so insensitive. The country is mourning.”
“girl not now”
“Not now Travy!”
“bb love you but feel like maybe this could have been rescheduled to post any day but today”
But not everyone expected him to meet the moment. Plenty of social media users came to his defense, writing:
“Y’all are too sensitive.”
“Is it possible to not make everything about politics and just let him celebrate the win?”
“It blows my mind that some of you think he shouldn’t be posting about his football game today because the election didn’t go how you wanted. This is a football players page, not a political page. No one can post anything other than how upset they are about the election? Get out of here with that. There is enough places on social media to talk about politics.”
“The man plays football. Let him play football.”
Obviously the election is the biggest (and worst) news in the nation, even the world right now. But at the same time, it’s not like he gets to stop doing his job — the NFL is right in the middle of the season, and this is part of being a football star. Right?
What do U think, Perezcious readers? Was this insensitive? Should he have paused posting anything positive for a day? Or is everyone offended over nothing? Let us know (below).
