New information is surfacing in the months following Ayşegül Eraslan’s death.
In March, the Turkish influencer and fashion icon, who drew attention on local TV show İşte Benim Stilim AKA This Is My Style, was tragically found dead in her home. The shocking discovery came after the 27-year-old had a visit with friend and actor Sunay Kurtuluș, who wound up being the last person to see her alive. On Instagram, Sunay’s lawyers assured the public the actor was cooperating with authorities and was “not at the scene of the incident at the time it occurred.”

Little is publicly known at this time surrounding Ayşegül’s cause of death as the investigation continues, but what is known is she took to Instagram shortly before being found dead to share a series of concerning notes. Per The Us Sun, Ayşegül talked about “never know[ing] the love of a mother or a father” and being “raised with a great deal of violence” on her Story before her death. And in a final message, she asked someone to care for her beloved dogs.

But as fans continue to search for more answers, an unsettling discovery is coming into light.
Ayşegül’s family now claims she was the victim of blackmail over sexually explicit photos prior to her death at 27. Turkish outlet Sözcü reported last week that attorney Hasan Yilmaz revealed the family has evidence of such blackmail, which reportedly included multiple serious threats, and that they’ve already submitted it to court. And while suspects have been ID’d, they’ve yet to give statements.
Yilmaz further spoke on the family’s frustration surrounding authorities’ death investigation, noting they feel the case should be handled by special suspicious death units.
