Wow. Two of Joseph Duggar‘s family members will be deposed amid his child molestation case!
As Perezcious readers know, Joe is facing two charges of lewd or lascivious molestation involving a child under the age of 12 after a 2020 incident on vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida. His female victim — who was just 9 at the time — alleged he “manipulated [her] underwear and grazed her genitals” under a blanket and rubbed “his hands on her thighs,” according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office. Duggar allegedly “apologized for his actions and the incidents stopped after the apology.”

Joe was reportedly confronted by the victim’s father and admitted his actions, as he did on a recorded call with Arkansas detectives, though he later pleaded not guilty. He’s been released on a $600,000 bond and cannot have any unsupervised contact with minors, including his four kids. Joe and his wife Kendra are also facing separate child endangerment charges.
It is a very, very icky situation for the already deeply embattled family. Not only has it highlighted a deeper problem within the Duggar family, but it has exposed tensions between Joseph and his wife Kendra’s family, the Caldwells! And that’s what makes this particular revelation all the more inneresting…
According to new court records obtained by The US Sun on Tuesday, defense attorneys have named four key witnesses lined up to be deposed in the case alongside the alleged victim. This includes investigator Darrell “Chase” Norris, Thomas Lowe, and Kendra’s own parents, Christina Caldwell and Paul Gene Caldwell. Wow!

Thomas Lowe is scheduled to be deposed by telephone. It’s unclear how he’s associated with the case. Christina and Paul will be questioned on September 14 at the State Attorney’s Office in Panama City, Florida.
While they seemingly used to be close with the Duggars prior to Kendra’s marriage, they’ve had a massive falling out with their daughter since Joseph’s arrest. They were even forced to move out of their home and considered leaving the state as Kendra allegedly stopped communicating with them! The family released a statement saying they were “troubled and heartbroken” by the allegations against their son-in-law. So, it’ll be very interesting to hear what they have to say!
