There must be something in the water at Dublin Zoo because their monkey family just grew by two!
Two White Crowned Mangabey monkeys, a male and a female, were born only two weeks apart, several weeks ago.
The male, Jomoro, and the female, Awiane, were both fathered by the same dominant male, Danzo.
Team leader of the African Plains exhibit at the zoo said:
“We’re delighted with the arrival of two Mangabeys which brings the Dublin Zoo troop of these elegant monkeys up to eight. Jomoro and Awiane are thriving and get on very well as brother and sister. It├óΓé¼Γäós a joy to watch them being playful together.”
That’s so great!!
White Crowned Mangabeys are endangered in the wild and aren’t doing well, their numbers constantly decreasing.
So the breeding program at Dublin Zoo is extra ahmayzing! These babies are so special and important!
Way to go, Dublin Zoo!! Take care of those cuties!!
