An eye for an eye leaves the world blind, but what about an ant for a bike?
When two thieves, 18 and 19, near Cochabamba, Bolivia, stole motorbikes from nearby Amazon villagers, things got bad for them pretty quickly.
They were caught and tied to two trees… covered in venomous ants!
The ants live on the specific tree variety and they really sting! Though their venom does have medicinal purposes, these men didn’t receive those benefits.
One of the thieves’ family memebers eventually came to pay $3,700 for the stolen motorbikes, which settled the debt.
But that was after they were tied to the trees for THREE DAYS! Both the criminals almost died from the ant justice, and one is in intensive care.
That sounds like a pretty intense punishment. We bet those thieves won’t be stealing anything anytime soon.
