The Irish rock band dominated the 2011 concert biz. U2’s 360 Tour was the highest grossing concert series this year, selling $156 million in the U.S. and $231 miilion worldwide.
U2’s Avatar like numbers include selling 1.7 million tickets at $91.67 a pop!
But that’s not all!
Country music was FIERCE in 2011. Tay-Tay and Kenny Chesney at number two and three in the U.S. respectively.
Internationally, the reunion of Robbie Williams and his Take That bandmates pulled in $224 million, second to Bono and Co.
2012 promises to be a concert explosion too. Reunions like Van Halen, the Beach Boys, and Fleetwood make will be major headlines.
