3D Cleopatra With Angelina Jolie Getting Closer!

Back in October, we heard from James Cameron that a 3D Cleopatra film was in development at Sony.
Now, it looks like progress is finally being made, and according to producer Scott Rudin, a director has almost been chosen. Rumors say that The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass is a front-runner.
Here’s what Rudin had to say about Stacy Schiff’s biography Cleopatra: A Life, the film’s source material:

“[It’s] the first to be written by a woman. It felt like such a blow-the-doors-off-the-hinges idea of how to tell it, impossible to resist. We’re pretty close. A lot of directors want to do it, but there is only a handful we’ll make it with.”

As far as casting is concerned, Rudin has made it clear that he REALLY wants Angelina Jolie for the project:

“Who else could play it? Who do you get if not her? She’s a gigantic movie star, a great actress. She’s got an unbelievable variety of aspects to her.”

We agree. Angelina all the way! As we’ve said before, she’s def right for this role.
Are U pumped to hear that Cleopatra might actually happen soon?
