Angelina Jolie has chosen a path of peace. Or so she says…
Spokesperson Mindy Nyby confirmed Monday the Maleficent star had parted ways with attorney Laura Wasser.
With the high-powered divorce lawyer, Angie had been waging all-out war with ex Brad Pitt, claiming he hadn’t paid “meaningful” child support and even reportedly eyeing his money from before they were married.

It seemed like every day we were hearing a new angle from one camp or the other.
But Angie is now making it seem like she’s decided the well-being of her children is about more than financial support. See, her new lawyer does things differently, as Nyby explained in a statement:
“Angelina decided to change counsel to Samantha Bley DeJean of Bley and Bley, as Samantha’s expertise is the protection and best interests of children. Angelina appreciates Laura’s cooperation in transitioning the case over the past several weeks.”
An inside source told People (and a few other outlets — they really wanted this story out there) this has been in the works a while:
“Angelina decided to put Samantha in charge of her case. She put her in the lead a month ago, and over the past month, the case has been fully transitioned to Samantha. She has come to rely on Samantha’s counsel and thought it best that she take the lead.
Angelina remains focused on healing her family. She continues to support the reconciliation of the children with Brad.”
Wait, some of the harshest fighting has been over the past month. Which lawyer is behind all that?
Innerestingly, TMZ reported three weeks ago Angie and Laura were parting ways — and at the time Nyby totally denied it. Huh.
That story was that Wasser was the one initiating the split — and she was leaving because Angie had gotten “unreasonable” and “fueled with anger” in her war on Brad.
Wasser, per TMZ, didn’t want such a vicious fight.
So is this news the opposite of what’s actually going on? Did they try to keep it quiet at the time so they could battle the bad press later by throwing Wasser under the bus??
Here’s hoping, highly publicized or not, this news really does mean peace between Brad and Angie.
We’ll have to wait and see.
