Vanessa Hudgens Reveals She Had A 'Midlife Crisis' At 27

Vanessa Hudgens reveals she had a midlife crisis at 27

Vanessa Hudgens has been in the entertainment industry since she was a young teen, and it definitely impacted her mental state in a not-so-positive way.
In People’s Most Beautiful issue, the former High School Musical star reveals she suffered a midlife crisis at age 27.

On the scary time of realization, the actress shared:

“I remember waking up at 27 and that was the first moment where I was like, ‘Oh. I am not a kid. I’m not a teenager. I’m an adult and I have responsibilities.’ I felt like I had no idea who I was or what I wanted or what I was going after.”

But it did help refocus her energy, which was greatly needed:

“I’m very grateful for it because then it forced me to reassess who I am and what I believe in, therefore giving me just a better understanding of myself. Now that I’ve reached 30, it’s so nice feeling free to just speak your mind.”

Like Hudgens, her HSM co-star and bestie Ashley Tisdale has also spoken out about mental health recently, revealing a battle with anxiety and depression that will be fully exposed in her forthcoming album Symptoms.

Hopefully, the gals leaned on each other during their challenges!

Continuing on, the starlet shared that not all problems of of youth disappear at a certain age:

“I thought being 30 I wouldn’t have to deal with breakouts anymore and it’s something that I still deal with. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that my face is the only one I got, so I have to be good to it.”

Guess we all can’t be as lucky as Kendall Jenner and have Proactive — not a team of highly trained dermatologist working to clear our epidermis issues — right??

HA!

Luckily, Vanessa is very health conscious, works out regularly, and eats well-balanced meals. The trained performer needs assurance her body will hold up with the demands of her crazy schedule!
With one final though on self-care, Baby V said:

“The first step was just actually taking care of myself. My health, my skin, my body — I feel like by doing so, you’re showing yourself love, so it’s creating that foundation of love for yourself.”

Love yourself, babe!!
