Wow, what a HEARTBREAKING story.
Kimberly Hayden, the owner of 12-year-old pug named Chloe, is planning to sue the vet who removed her dog’s eye without consent.
The unfortunate situation began when Kimberly brought Chloe in to treat the pup’s scratched cornea, an injury the vet said could be remedied with medication among other options. At the initial appointment, Hayden opted to treat Chloe’s eye with medication, so you can imagine her surprise when the vet’s office called to inform her that they had REMOVED Chloe’s eye at a follow-up visit.

What’s nuts about this situation is that Kim NEVER gave her consent to remove Chloe’s eye and legally the vet is supposed to get permission for any procedure that would cost more than $5.
How messed up!
Kimberly complained:
“Chloe is stumbling. Bumping into things. It’s just been very traumatic. It feels surreal.”
Understandably, Kimberly is considering suing the vet for the horrible gaffe.
The vet’s office responded to Kimberly’s complaints with the following statement:
“We did fail to get surgical authorization from the client on the day of the procedure.”
No kidding!
We send our well wishes to Chloe and we hope the vet’s office is held accountable for this horrid mistake!
