Walmart & Amazon Remove Offensive Coffee Mug Mocking People With Down Syndrome -- See Their Quick Response!

We’re glad to hear Walmart and Amazon did the right thing here!
Over the past two days, the major retailers announced they’ll no longer carry a product which mocked people with down syndrome. It marks a major victory for customers with intellectual disabilities and their loved ones.

The offensive item in question, a white coffee mug with the words — (censored here) — “got r***rd?” in plain black letters, understandably upset a TON of customers and the National Down Syndrome Society. Numerous consumers complained, describing the mug as “appalling” and “unacceptable”.
In response to the controversial cup, concerned citizens made a Change.org petition demanding the stores remove it from their shelves and websites immediately.
Following the outrage, Walmart released the following statement on Twitter:

As for Amazon, they confirmed the item is “not listed for sale” on their website.
Phew, what a relief! It really goes to show how everyday people can enact BIG change if they band together!
After the victory, the NDSS had this to say about the scandal:

“Upon learning of the offensive language used in products sold by Walmart and Amazon, NDSS reached out to both retailers to discuss the offensive items being sold on their websites and asked that they immediately discontinue the sale of those products, which they both have done. NDSS strongly condemns the use of the ├óΓé¼╦£r word.’ As the leading human rights organization for all people with Down syndrome, we maintain a zero tolerance policy for this type of mockery and offense.”

Well said!
Oh, and if you’re wondering how the mug made into the stores in the first place, that remains a mystery. Hopefully this will NEVER happen again.
