Even before she served him divorce papers, Wendy Williams was well into the process of untethering herself from Kevin Hunter.
Sources close to the daytime queen tell TMZ she has totally cut off her estranged husband and has hired a team to make sure her funds are secure amid the couple’s impending divorce.
These insiders say the 54-year-old host has separated her finances from Kevin’s and has created new accounts — an effort that reportedly began before she filed for divorce earlier this month.

While Wendy and Kevin previously lived together at their mansion in New Jersey, the talkshow queen is now said to have locked down a place of her own in Manhattan. TMZ reports that she signed the lease on her new pad a few weeks ago and has already paid rent for the next year.
As for their professional relationship, Wendy reportedly debated whether to cut business ties with Kevin — who was serving as her manager and an executive producer on The Wendy Williams show. As we reported, she ultimately decided to fire him from both jobs.
She’s currently looking for a new manager and executive producer… not to mention, a new specimen to thirst over (a role she made clear that Jason Momoa would easily fill.)
Sources connected to the situation say that Wendy’s soon-to-be ex has yet to receive any money from the show following his termination; but, as other outlets have reported, he’s expecting to collect a multi-million dollar settlement.
Last week, The Blast reported that Kevin is in the middle of negotiating a lucrative, all-encompassing deal in the divorce that will also include a severance package for exiting The Wendy Williams Show. Sources close to the negotiations told the outlet that the exit deal will take time because of how many assets the former couple attained together over the years, in both their personal and professional lives.

Kevin is said to be seeking to have the gigantic amount of wealth evenly distributed, based on the argument that he’s been helping grow Wendy’s career since the early days (the couple have been together since 1997), and played an active role in accumulating success over the years.
Wendy’s staff, meanwhile, has apparently been “celebrating” Hunter’s departure because “nobody liked him” on the crew, the outlet reported.
