This is so heartbreaking to hear…
ICYMI, television icon Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance at her son Kevin Hunter Jr.‘s graduation last week — and we have to say, she looked perfectly fine! The big personality of the 60-year-old that we all know and love was shining as she tearfully watched her son receive his diploma was so heartwarming to see. And the fact she seemed completely well despite her struggles with alcoholism and her battle with dementia was such good news for fans.

It also got us scratching our heads because previous reports said she was “permanently incapacitated” — and it SURE didn’t look like it to us! But now her son himself is speaking up, and he’s god some good, and sad, news. On Monday, radio host Charlamagne Tha God posted a new video on Instagram showing Wendy looking SO healthy and getting some pampering done ahead of Kev’s graduation. In the caption, the Breakfast Club host wrote:
“This makes me feel ancient. Congrats @topfloor_kev for graduating from @fiuinstagram with a degree in Economics. Next stop law school!!! Keep God First, Stay Humble, and Keep Working Young Man!!! We Truly Thank GOD for it ALL!!!”

In the comments, the former daytime TV host’s son thanked Charlamange for his well wishes and said “let’s get her home”, before offering an update on his momma. He revealed she’s “sober” now — and “wants to come home”:
“While I’m here quick update on my mom. She’s sober and wants to come home. We’re fighting to make that happen because Isolation is killing her faster than anything else.”
Just heart-wrenching. Poor, poor Wendy.
It was so clear she was enjoying herself spending time with her son at his graduation and being surrounded by so many people that care about her. Hopefully she’s able to come home soon and be with her loved ones.
