Vanna White ain’t bothered by much — she’s too busy cashing fat checks and enjoying her endless vacation time.
During an appearance on Elvis Duran & The Morning Show last week, the 68-year-old Wheel of Fortune host revealed a SHOCKING work-to-salary ratio that has fans scratching their heads! Brace yourselves before you shout NO F_ _ _ING W_Y! really loudly in a crowded room…
She works just 34 days per year! 34 DAYS!!! She told the host:
“[I work] about 34 days a year. That’s it. But six shows a day! Come on, you could feel bad for me.”
No, we could not! For those who don’t understand how that works, they film several shows a day — so after only a week, they have a month and a half’s worth of episodes. The rest of the time writers are creating new puzzles, producers are lining up prizes and recruiting new contestants, all that. Vanna just has to come in and touch those letter squares. 34 days a year. Damn. (Jeopardy! works the same, btw — as do most game shows!)
The entire room was shocked to hear the number, though, with one asking if it’s really true that she has “331 days off.” The former model confirmed it to be true, but noted she’d “never looked at it that way.” Of course she hasn’t…
So for such a small amount of working days — literally just a month and some change — so does she make around one month’s salary from the show? HELL NO! THIS IS TV, Y’ALL! And Vanna has been on the show since 1982, so she made her deal back when that syndication money was good good!
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Vanna rakes in about $10 million a year from her co-hosting duties! So really that means she makes about $300,000 per day she has to come in! Good work if you can get it!
