Will Smith never faced Freddy Krueger — but he did apparently battle his lawyers!
Yes, during the Parents Just Don’t Understand phase of his career, the Fresh Prince did a Halloween novelty song called Nightmare on My Street, even making a horror movie music video.
Unfortunately, they did not get permission from New Line Cinema, who found the resemblance to A Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy Krueger a little too on-the-nose — and took them to court!

The result? The entire song and video got shelved — until a few days before Halloween when someone leaked the 30-year-old video on YouTube.
