We don’t remember hearing so much about the World Cup, but we’re sure the networks are happy!
Ratings for the 2010 FIFA World Cup are at a 16-year high.
ESPN and ABC had an average of 3.35 million viewers for the first 14 matches of the tournament – a 64 percent increase from 2006!
And Spanish-language station Univision hasn’t being doing bad either! The England/USA match brought in 4.11 million viewers on Saturday!
“In those games the American team is in, we├óΓé¼Γäóre going to do great numbers,├óΓé¼┬¥ said ESPN executive vp John Skipper. He also thinks that viewership ├óΓé¼┼ôwill be up dramatically whether they stay in or not.├óΓé¼┬¥
You can even watch the games online!
ESPN3.com and Univision have been streaming the games to record numbers!
