Yankees Star Brett Gardner’s Son’s Body Finally Released To Family As Mystery Continues To Surround Teen’s Death

Yankees Star Brett Gardner’s 14-Year-Old Son Miller Preliminary Cause Of Death During Family Vacation Revealed

Miller Gardner’s body has officially been released to his family.

A little over a week after the 14-year-old son of New York Yankees legend Brett Gardner tragically died on vacation in Costa Rica, his body is back in the grieving family’s possession. Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigations Police confirmed the news to the New York Post on Sunday, revealing that Miller’s body was released to the Gardners on Wednesday.

As we’ve been following, Brett and his wife Jessica announced the shocking and devastating news on X (Twitter) via the Yankees official account last weekend, revealing Miller died after falling ill. Investigators initially believed he died of asphyxiation, but that theory was later ruled out with further examination. It then came to light that the family of four, including Brett, Jessica, Miller, and 16-year-old Hunter ALL became sick after eating out near the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront and Rainforest Resort in Manuel Antonio where they were staying. A resort doctor prescribed them all medication to ease their symptoms, and the next day Miller sadly never woke up.

Investigators have since taken food samples from the restaurant in which they ate to determine whether food poisoning was a factor, but also aren’t ruling out a possible allergic reaction to the medication he was prescribed. Sadly, autopsy results could take up to three months.

We hope gaining possession of Miller’s body is a first step in a long road of healing for the Gardners. Our hearts remain with them.
