Designer Cigarettes?!?

It’s not a widely known fact, but fashion label Yves Saint Laurent first put its name on a pack of cigarettes back in 1989.

And although Tobacco advertising is banned in the US, Europe, and Australia, these cigs are primarily targeted now towards women in Asia and Russia.

The fancy cigs come in a black box with gold foil and retail for up to about $44 per 200-cigarette pack.

The ads for the YSL cigs include sayings such as:

“Creating a sense of appeal to female vanity and thereby making the woman who chose to smoke Yves Saint Laurent cigarettes more attractive than one who smokes another brand or more attractive than a woman who did not smoke at all.”

Though YSL isn’t alone in the smoking world as Versace, Pierre Cardin, Givenchy and Cartier have also lent their names and logos to tobacco firms.

So sad! There’s no need to glamorize smoking!!!
