Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz may no longer be an item, but she still has nothing but nice words for him!
During a Variety Directors on Directors chat on Wednesday, the actress opened up about making her debut film Blink Twice, starring her ex-fiancé. She told The Batman director Matt Reeves that she was eager to cast the Magic Mike star because of how charming he is, sharing:
“Channing was the first person I thought of for Slater King, and I don’t know where that came from, similar to you.”

She continued:
“I knew that the character needed to be somebody who we think we trust, especially because you don’t believe Naomi [Ackie] is getting on that plane if it’s someone who is immediately insidious.”
Channing was perfect to play her bad guy — but she means it as the highest praise for his sweetness:
“I wanted to weaponize his charisma. We’ve never seen him do something like that.”
Pretty cool to see her gushing about him just two months after they called off their engagement! They’d been together for three years, so it’s very mature of her to be able to talk highly of him despite the romance ending! Guess they really did end things amicably!
