Zooey Deschanel‘s marriage is DUNZO!
According to TMZ on Tuesday, the New Girl star’s husband, Jacob Pechenik, filed for divorce after the two announced their split last month.

Per the legal documents, the couple has been separated since January — due to “irreconcilable differences.” The film producer is also asking for joint legal and physical custody of their children: 4-year-old Elsie and 2-year-old Charlie.
On September 6, the two — who met on the set of Rock the Kasbah — announced their breakup in a statement, which read:
“After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners. We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”
Shortly after this was announced, it was reported the She & Him singer is dating Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott after meeting on Apple TV‘s Carpool Karaoke.
According to a HollywoodLife source:
“They started out as friends. They’ve been out a few times and seem to want to keep the romance on the quieter side. It’s pretty new still. They seem to like each other a lot and Jonathan travels a lot, but they see one another when they can.”
Additionally, a different insider told People the relationship is “new, but they are having a lot of fun together.”
Despite his ex’s new fling, Penchenik only has nice things to say about Zooey, telling HollywoodLife:
“Everything is amicable and we have two beautiful children together. We’ve been raising them and we’re going to continue to raise them, and take great care of get them… I’m happy. … [Zooey and I] haven’t had so many differences when it comes to the business, we both know what our strengths and weaknesses are and turn to each other for suggestions or advice on the other person’s expertise.”
As we reported, Deschanel and Scott recently made their relationship Instagram official by posting pictures from Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights.
The thespian added the caption:
“Still processing how scared I was of these people dressed in spooky masks. @unistudios@horrornights #UniversalHHN”
The HGTV personality penned on his page:
“So much fun last night. That high pitched scream totally wasn’t me! @UniStudios @HorrorNights #UniversalHHN Also happy to report….nobody got punched!”
Zooey has moved on!
