Bummer!

David Beckham and the LA Galaxy will not be going to Germany for a Thanksgiving tour as originally planned so they can give back to the troops.

Instead, they want to focus on their upcoming MLS championship game with Salt Lake City.

Galaxy President of Business Operations Tom Payne released a statement:

"We are very disappointed to announce the cancellation of our 2009 Postseason Tour due to a lack of communication and performance by the tour's organizer and promoter IMC Group, Inc. Unfortunately, IMC Group has no performed their obligations of the agreement thus far, nor do we have faith that they will be able to do so in the future.

"With MLS Cup 2009 this weekend in Seattle, we feel that it is important to make this decision now and remove the potential distractions to our team, rather than continue to hold out hope that the tour will indeed take place."

The Galaxy were scheduled to play FC Kaiserslautern on Thanksgiving Day as well as visit with the US soldiers stationed in Germany over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Sounds like they just couldn't get their shiz together in time!

David Beckham is going to do some good by visiting US soldiers stationed over in Germany during his Thanksgiving break.

Starting on Monday, Beckham and his Los Angeles Galaxy teammates will be heading to Kaiserslautern, South West Germany, to boost morale and visit with the troops and their families during a four day stay.

Then, on Thanksgiving day, they'll play a "friendly match" against Kaiserslautern FC, for which about 25,000 tickets will be made available to soldiers, their families, and the Defense Department staff.

However, even good deeds can't seem to go un-criticized with many Brits claiming Becks doesn't visit the British army.

Ouch.

NBC thought they had hit gold when they put Jay Leno in at 10 got the rights to the Winter Olympics, but it seems their plan has backfired.

With only three months to go until the big event, the network still has 30% of its ad time to sell! Could it be that NBC's asking price is a little too steep for advertisers?

That'll change rather quickly when they realize they need to recoup what they paid for the rights to air the games!

Maybe Jay can buy some airtime!

The chief financial officer for pro skateboarder and star of MTV's Life of Ryan, Ryan Sheckler, has been arrested and charged for embezzling over $365,000 from Sheckler!!!

Matthew Mercuro is currently being held on $400,000 bail in Huntington Beach after being accused of "having access to the accounts of the two businesses, Ryan Sheckler Rips LLC and Sheckler Merch 2 LL… [and] embezzling over $365,000 from these companies by transferring money from the corporate accounts into personal accounts and the account of his wife and a friend."

The douche was caught when "suspicious transfers" were reported in a financial review of one of the 19-year-old skater's companies.

Dumb!

The Huntington Beach PD is currently investigating the case, with Mercuro due to be arraigned on Tuesday. If found guilty, Sheckler's financial officer could serve up to six years and eight months in a state prison.

Throw the book at him!

The Who, possibly.

It is being rumored that the legendary 1960s British band will be taking the stage at this year's Super Bowl halftime show. If it does happen, it will mark the band's first live performance in the states in two years.

Sigh.

It's a good choice, but we miss the years where they paraded out Britney Spears to sing with Aerosmith and Justin Timberlake was shamed for undressing Janet Jackson.

This G-rated entertainment doesn't do anything for us.

We knew something was going on!

After those creeptastic pictures of Sammy Sosa hit the web everyone's been wondering what the fuck is going on with his face.

On Wednesday the former Cubs player finally explained the reason behind his whiter appearance saying: "It's a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some."

Some!? We think it's done a little bit more than some! Try a whole lot!

Sosa's also using the bleaching cream as a moisturizer and is reportedly in talks to market it.

After seeing these pictures, we think it may be a tough sale to hawk it as just a moisturizer!

"Wake up call" is right!

Michael Phelps came in second place in the 200 meter medley at the Short Course World Cup in Sweden, losing by 2 seconds! He also didn't qualify for the 100 butterfly final - his big event!

Not good, Michael!

Better lay off the bong for awhile and get your head back in the game!

Robert Enke, goalkeeper for Germany and Hannover 96, has died after being hit by a train.

Enke played 8 times for his country and also for Benfica, Barcelona and Borussia Moenchengladbach. National team coach Joachim Loew has said that Enke could have had the number one jersey at next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.

Enke's daughter, Lara, died in 2006 of a rare heart condition when she was 2 and he now leaves behind his wife, Teresa, and the eight-month-old daughter the couple just adopted in early 2009.

So tragic!

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
