I can't think of an issue that is closer to Family Values than granting gays and lesbians the right to marry. I am pleased that the Episcopal Priests are enlightened enough to see the importance of Gay Marriage and how it benefits humanity, Christianity, and the children who are being raised by gays and lesbians. I am proud to be an Episcopalian.

Come on, Perez, that title is ridiculous. Jesus loves everyone, but the majority of Christians and those who believe in Jesus accept the Bible as God's word. And the Bible clearly states:

"Men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."
etc., etc.
It is one thing to ask for equal rights from the government, because there is a rightful separation between Church and State. But don't mislead and lie to people by saying "Jesus Loves Gay Marriage." It's an oxymoron of a statement in the truest sense.

The episcopal church and most segments of the jewish religon accept gays and dont look at them as any kind of sinners, but those tow religons are really practiced by higher income more educated people . Southern fundamentalists white or black tend to be teh most homophobic and the least educated and the most hateful. Such is life,sad.

Who are you to call anyone "uneducated"? I think I'm pretty well educated. I read more books every week than most people. You libs love to denounce people who don't agree with your penchant for moral relativity as "uneducated". That's called "marginalization". I think it's obscene that you twist parts of the Bible to conform to your twisted world view and then have the nerve to marginalize those who believe that truth is never to be twisted but accepted in it's unflinching form no matter how much it isn't liked.
I converted to the Episcopal religion just over a month ago and I really like it. There are openly gay families that go and it's nice to see them so comfortable and have no one judge them. ESPECIALLY in a Church. I was raised Roman Catholic and it felt more like a cult. There is no way to feel comfortable in a Church that tells you everything you do is a sin and if you don't do what the Pope says, you're going to hell. Your not even allowed to question it. Everything just "is" and you have to believe it. They tell you to treat people as Jesus would yet they outcast gays and say Gays are the "Ideology of Evil"(according to Pope John Paul's book)…like Pedophile Priests aren't the REAL ideology of evil. There's a reason why the Roman Catholic religion has the highest % of people leaving the faith and also why so many Churches are closing and other religions are growing.
Yeah, a bunch of homosexuals got together and called themselves the Epispocal Church.

The reason gay marriage is a problem for me, is because homosexuality is being accepted as a "freedom of choice" issue, when in fact, it is a "mental health" issue, specifically and primarily "gender dysphoria". Instead of performing sex changes or encouraging these people to go through life with the burden of an unnatural confusion, the psychological community should be advancing the treatment of the mental health issue to eradicate homosexuality, not for a religious purpose even, but for a compassionate purpose; so that people so afflicted have a chance to live a natural life, free of psychosis.

A quandry ~ there is one major flaw in the theory of the Bible. What if homosexuality is not committed as a rebellious act, but rather, because of a brain dysphoria? The sin itself still exists, no matter the dynamics. Are there contingencies for that? If so, why doesn't the Bible then say that there are contingencies for sins of confusion. If a man should accidently take too much wine, and fall into adultry in an inebriated state, is there a contingency for that? If a man commits murder when he is in a mental state of psychosis, are there contingencies for those circumstances?

You may have your faith in God, but faith isn't the only thing getting you to heaven, it's the acceptance of Jesus Christ in your heart and living your life to serve him and walking in the way of the Lord!
