Model Leaves Suicide Note On Facebook, Kills Himself in NYC Park

Talk about sad, tragic and twisted.
People are now using online social sites to leave suicide notes!
Paul Zolezzi, an aspiring model, hanged himself in a Brooklyn park on Friday. According to authorities, the 30-year-old killed himself just hours after making an announcement on his Facebook page that he would be taking his life.
CRAZY!
Paul's body was found hanging from a monkey bar inside Mount Prospect Park along the Eastern Parkway at 7 A.M..
On Thursday night at 8:40pm, Zolezzi stated on his Facebook page that he had been "born in San Francisco, became a shooting star over everywhere, and ended his life in Brooklyn… And couldn't have asked for more."
Apparently, he had used his personal page to talk about his depression before, with frequent gloomy updates.
Sad.
Suicide should never be the answer, y'all.

Just goes to show, just beccasue you look good on the outside, doesn't mean good things are going on on the inside. I think most people in the entertainment industry can vouch for that. I hope he finally found some peace.

How sad that he would do it on a playground for a child to see that kind of thing. Suicide is NOT the answer, but it's almost like he was making a statement doing it in such a public place, like saying, "Look at me."

Actually, Perez is right. For most uses of 'to hang', 'hung' is used in the past tense except for when in the context of death from hanging where it is 'hanged'.

Actually, it's "hung" himself. A person is hanged by the neck to die by another party. However, to die by hanging at your own hand is to be hung. Not hanged. Hung.
OH I am so sorry to read about this young man who had so much yet he could not see it, it makes me so sad. I hope he has found the peace in death he could not find in this life.
Um, "hanged himself" is correct; if the verb "hang" is used transitively (i.e. takes a direct object), then "hanged himself" is appropriate. If used intransitively, "hung" would be correct (ex: "he hung from the gallows").

Perez, if you had read the article in its entirety, you would see that this man was addicted to heroin and his own father jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge when he was 8. He was in methadone treatment and unhappy where he was living.

If people only knew what was on the other side of suicide, they might reconsider and get the help they needed.
I knew him well…. he would talk to me on the phone for hours cheering me up during my own depression. He was very into drugs and we stopped talking over the summer. I can't believe I'm reading about this right now…I'm in shock

I think WAAAAY too many people in our society blow off people who say that they're depressed b/c they assume they're lazy or exaggerating or the people around them just want to ignore it….depression is REAL guys!
With the use of MRI's and other kinds of tests, researchers have PROVEN that there is science behind suicide. It has NOTHING to do with having a bad attitude or being weak. It is a disease just like cancer and diabetes.
PLEASE IF YOU KNOW SOMEBODY WHO IS DEPRESSED LONGER THAN A MONTH….DON'T IGNORE THEIR CRIES FOR HELP.

It's difficult to hang on sometimes. Pity. I've suggested to them that therapy should be a required part of working for an agency. Perhaps I wasn't wrong…
I'm with Fairystar- the time to help is when someone says they are sad and or depressed. We can't take those things lightly. That guy if he had stayed alive could've had his whole life turn around and get spectacular- that is what is so great about life. If you aren't happy where you are, have an adventure. Live somewhere else, help out others, take up new interests and find new friends. Life can be exciting and changeable.
