Actress Kelly McGillis – who is most notable for her role as Tom Cruise’s love interest in Top Gun – is gay!
Duh!
Though rumors regarding her orientation have surrounded McGillis for years, in an interview with SheWired.com, when asked what the gender of her next partner would be, Kelly answered that her partner would “definitely be a woman. I├óΓé¼Γäóm done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life.”
But it wasn’t always easy. McGillis said that learning to accept herself was “an ongoing process from the time I was probably 12. It was a long arduous journey for me. I had a lot of bad things happen to me that made me think God was punishing me for being gay. Life is a freaking journey about coming to terms with who and what you are.”
And now that her kids from her two marriages have all grown up, 51-year-old Kelly said she wants to begin “a whole different phase” and return to acting, although not to the “point of losing who I really am.”
