Ryan O’Neal has finally touched on his last days with Farrah Fawcett, in a sit-down interview with Today‘s Meredith Vieira on Tuesday morning.
Wonder what took him so long???
Waiting for the highe$t offer, perhaps??
O’Neal shared the strength of Farrah’s fighting spirt through her final days of battling anal cancer.
“[Doctors] thought that she would live just another couple hours, and she lived a couple of days,” Ryan told Meredith on Today.
He continued: “So I had a bed put in the room for me. And I just lay by her side. She wouldn’t — move on. She wouldn’t pass.”
He also discussed Farrah’s final moments quite candidly: “[Farrah] just looked at us with a slight smile, and then all the machines flat lined. She was gone.”
So, so sad.
But why share such a personal moment with the public???
O’Neal revealed to Vieira that their incarcerated son, Redmond O’Neal, was extremely remorseful that he was unable to see his mother before her passing but now has “a wonderful plan in mind to restore order in his life.”
When Vieira questioned Ryan about the grieving process, he said that he and his son are going through the grieving process together and the outpouring of love from the public has kept his spirits lifted.
O’Neal concluded: “I’m using what she taught me to survive, to go on. I have launched into this massive job of answering the mail that has come in for her over the last few weeks… Hundreds and hundreds of letters of pain and sorrow and hope. I’m answering every one of them. That’s my life now.”
