The late, great, gay rights activist, Harvey Milk, will be one of the sixteen recipients of this year’s Presidential Medal of Freedom.
As stated by the White House, recipients “make an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”
We can think of no one better than Harvey to receive the prestigious honor in the name of gay rights!
Other honorees this year include Billie Jean King, Stephen Hawking, Sandra Day O’Connor, Chita Rivera, and Sidney Poitier.
Congrats to everyone!
