Tabloid hounds Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were recently reported absent from Heidi’s sisters birthday bash because they weren’t being paid to appear.

We were sure that Heidi would come out swinging as soon as the rumor touched her delicate, empty ears, but in a shocking twist, The Hills star let her REP speak for her!
Gasp!
The rep revealed that the allegations were completely false, claiming that Holly Montag had several events planned for her birthday and that Speidi attended those other events instead. He says any rumor that the couple wants compensation to spend time with their family is “absolutely not true.”
Okay, but Heidi, why couldn’t you tell us that? Has the day finally come that you no longer want to play it up for your adoring photogs?!
Can it be?! (One can only hope!)
