At 71 years old, when your health is in jeopardy, things are always up in the air. Nothing is guaranteed, and it's a scary thing!
For Aretha Franklin, it looks like she took the right steps to make sure her ongoing health problems are no more — and she's now calling her recovery and improvement 'miraculous.'
We're just happy she's okay!
If you remember, Aretha had to cancel a BUNCH of shows, worrying fans those close to her alike. Strangely, she never said exactly what the problem was — and we STILL have no idea!
BUT, she did give an update on her health, saying:
The weirdest part about Aretha Franklin canceling a show in her home town is not that she's canceling the show, but that her reason is super vague!
We hope she's okay!
According to the singer, she's going though an ongoing 'treatment.' There is no word on WHAT that treatment is, or if we should be really worried!

Legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin is taking off the rest of June and rescheduling a few shows due to an unspecified medical treatment!
Aretha Franklin's voice is still as powerful as ever, and she'll never give up recording!
To make sure she doesn't have to, Aretha needs to stay healthy — something that she takes very seriously after a few scares (she had to miss Whitney Houston's funeral because of leg spasms!). While at first glance you could think that Aretha might not be in the best shape, looks can be deceiving! It doesn't mean she isn't healthy!
All things considered, at 71 she's active and going strong! That's an INCREDIBLE place to be!
So how does she keep so active and upbeat?
While on tour to promote her latest album, Falling Out Of Love, Aretha Franklin made an unscheduled pit stop at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis to x-ray her toe injured in an accident on Friday.
The Queen of Soul tripped over her Jimmy Choo spiked heels in her hotel suite and felt a sharp pain in her left index toe.
She says it "hurt like heck for a minute, but seemed to subside." However, x-rays a few days later revealed a fracture in the toe!
We're so sorry to hear that, but it sounds like things could have been worse for the music legend who said, "I'm so grateful it wasn't my right piano [pedal] foot."
She still has other problems on her mind though. As she was gearing up for a performance in Virginia on Tuesday night, she joked:
"How am I supposed to match my new Marc Jacobs gown with this wooden blue hospital shoe?"
We're glad that's ALL she's worrying about, especially after her mysterious health scare last year, which required serious surgery!

The Queen of Soul appeared on The View Thursday to promote her new album, A Woman Falling Out of Love, and admitted that her dramatic weight loss is a result of the surgery she underwent 5 months ago.
Despite the wow inducing results, she insists "it was not Bariatric surgery."
Honestly, we don't really care WHAT it was as long as it was healthy. She's made it clear she does not want to talk about it and says she's "feeling wonderful [and] fabulous", so that's all we care about!

In order to lose weight, you have to REALLY want to lose weight. Aretha Franklin admits although trying to lose weight most of her life, she "didn’t know how to lose weight.”
Recently, the singer has begun an incredible transformation and lost 85 pounds, leaving people to speculate that she may have surgery to thank.
In actuality, she should be thanking an embarrassing accident! In an interview, Aretha revealed that she BROKE an exercise machine at her heaviest, which spurred the revaluation that she was "just to heavy."
She explained the accident, saying:
“I had a Power Rider that I used for exercise and I actually broke it — I was that heavy. I didn’t know how to lose weight.”
Besides the actual epiphany to R-E-S-P-E-C-T her body, the singer credits good old fashioned healthy exercise for her weight loss, saying:
“I’m on the track at least three times a week, and the treadmill. I’m up to about 26 minutes on the treadmill and a mile and a half on the track. I haven’t worked up to a run yet; it’s more like a slow trot.”
Trot or not, we're ecstatic that she was able to focus on the positive after her embarrassing fitness accident, instead of focusing on the negative.
