At the rate they’re going, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis could be taking over the world soon!!

And we probably wouldn’t object, ha!

This dynamic duo went from unknown to ubiquitous seemingly overnight!! Just last week, the two became the first duo EVER to have their first two singles hit the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Days later, they won The Billboard Music Award’s Top Rap Song, beating out other HUGE artists like Flo Rida, Kanye West, and PSY.

The two were recently interviewed for Billboard Magazine's cover story, during which Macklemore gave us a glimpse of what makes him really unique:

It was a GREAT night for the music biz at the Billboard Music Awards!!!

Top artists— like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Madonna, and Nicki Minaj— came together in hopes of winning a trophy, but there were just TOO many EPIC performances for all of the accolades to be presented on the MGM stage!!!

So WHO walked away a prestigious award???!!!!

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz just won Top Rap Song at the Billboard Music Awards for Thrift Shop because, well, it was one of THE biggest songs of the year!

Beating out Flo Rida, Kanye, and um, PSY, the two lovely lads took the biggest coveted award in the rap world, surprising the audience, we're sure. But, what was most shocking about the award was a coffee mug-holding Kid Rock's introduction where he made the comment:

"Let's give it up for people lip syncing to pre-recorded music."

Ouch! Was that a dig at Selena Gomez?? Is this a new celebrity feud brewing??

The ceiling at the Billboard Music Awards really couldn't hold Macklemore & Ryan Lewis!

The Seattle duo performed their smash hit Thrift Shop, and just like his PJ's from the music video, it was AWESOME!

The mini-rapper released his version of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' amazingly awesome song Can't Hold Us, and it is so freaking good!

We've now had this song blasting on repeat for what seems like days! And we're still not tired of it!

The BET Awards are going high class this year.

Between Rihanna's Diamonds and Justin Timberlake's Suit & Tie, it sounds like host Chris Tucker is really going to be putting on the ritz!

Naturally, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and Kendrick Lamar were also up for awards for their work this year, while Chris Brown, who was on hand at the announcement ceremony, is once again up for Best Male R&B Artist.

Drake should get the honorary team player award- he's featured on FOUR of the noms for Best Collaboration!
