The journey into the world of Electra Hart continues - and we're getting a little more abstract!

That's right, Marina & The Diamonds is preparing for the release of her new album, also titled after the aforementioned musical alter-ego on which she took for the project, and three brand new, INCREDIBLE songs from it have found their way onto the net!

So much range in style and aesthetic! This is a VERY ambitious direction for her!

Marina & The Diamonds is back with new music and (as clearly evident in this song) a new musical direction!

Creating the alter ego of "Electra Heart", Marina's new persona hss freed her up to explore a new sound. A more "mainstream" sound. But still cool! Marina is still Marina!

We love it!

Marina & The Diamonds announced that not only will be she be opening for Katy Perry on various North American dates of the pop star's California Dreams tour, but she also has her own, exclusive gigs coming up in the US of A, throughout the months of April AND June!

Holy shiz! We're so excited!

We wonder if we'll be getting some new material from her this time around!

Marina & The Diamonds took to her Twitter on Wednesday and decided to give a big fat diss toward Britney.

She tweeted:

I felt so annoyed when britney shaved her head. I had planned to do it the week before to make people gossip about my fragility and feel sad for my depression and she just went and totally. stole. my thunder. i mean, everyone was like "you're copying britneys breakdown" after that

I am NOT drunk. I have just been so absolutely amazing at hiding the crazy for 1 long arse year. I needed people to buy my records without wincing, you know? play it safe, dont be crazy, tesco wont stock you, dont put a dick on the album cover etc

WTF?? First of all, why is she bringing up the whole head shaving incident that happened a bajillion years ago? Secondly, hon, you don't want to make Brit fans mad.

She must have realized her mistake because later she wrote:

Re britney fans. It wasn't a diss. It was real. I've been thinking for 5 minutes & have decided, yes, i will take a bullet for her.

Hmm. Not sure why she felt compelled to go after Britney and bring up some really old dramz, but whatever. Guess she learned that angering Brit Brit fans is a reeeeally bad idea.

Many people were pretty shocked with the amount of product placement blatantly on display in Britney Spears' music video for her new single, Hold It Against Me, and it seems to have prompted a pretty inneresting discussion from some other performers on Twitter, including Marina and the Diamonds and Katy Perry!

Our beloved Marina was the first to pose the question:

What is consensus on product placement in videos? As a fan, do you prefer product placement if it means bigger budget vid?

To which Perry responded:

@MarinasDiamonds do it w/style & grace…Not so in ur face like some. U hv to get creative w/it. Some artists don't care tho, & u can tell.

Inneresting perspective! Not sure how much that applies to our Brit Brit, but for the most part, we do have to agree!

Product placement has certainly become a much more prominent fixture and music videos, and we think that it's important to ensure that if it is to be included, it doesn't sacrifice the integrity of the story being told!

And kudos to Marina for inviting a discussion about the issue! We imagine that there are a lot of different people with a variety of opinions about it!
