What a scary time.

Oh no! This makes us super sad!
Unfortunately, it looks as though Mel’s been dropped from Epic Records, though no official confirmation has been made.
The label previously tried to release three different singles — and even had her perform Long Distance on XF this season — but none of them gained any traction.
It also seems that her debut album, Truly, was supposed to drop last year but has since been given a release date of December 31st, 2013!
Not only that, but on Epic’s website, she is no longer listed on the artist roster page… and neither is her fellow XF season one alum, Astro, which can't be a good sign.
Season one’s Chris Rene and Marcus Canty, however, remain on the artist roster page, and so does season two’s girl group, Fifth Harmony.
We think it’s a total shame if Epic really did drop Melanie, seeing as she has SO much talent and such a remarkable voice! Unfortunately, it seems as though not enough support was put behind her in the long-run.
Perhaps they could've done some rebranding??
We wish Melanie the best of luck in the future, though, no matter what the outcome!

The tune pulsates with emotion while still having a back beat that will totally rock your cute little socks off! It's a perfect sequel to Mel's inspiring tune, Don't Fail Me Now!
We can't WAIT to hear the rest of Truly, which will hopefully come out sometime early next year, but we're even MORE amped to hear Melanie return to her old X Factor stomping ground THIS Thursday to perform Long Distance!
You show those contestants what having the X Factor is all about, girl!
Yea girl! Belt it with that exquisite instrument of yours!!!
The song is ferocious and powerful, but we have to admit, the video is kind of meh compared to Melanie's AWEsome voice. The production value seems downright cheap!
Get yourself a better MV team, Melanie! You need a killer video to compliment those intimidating vocals!
