Well it turns out…
That's not the case.
While many assume she became a celebrity nanny to become closer to the stars, an insider says:
The striped shirt strikes again!
We're not surprised Kate Middleton chose to wear her favorite nautical-themed outfit to hand out prizes to winners of the America's Cup World Series in Portsmouth, UK on Sunday.
The top was styled with her beloved navy blue double-breasted Zara blazer, jeans, and navy blue wedge heels.
Meanwhile, Wills was less polished in navy blue slacks worn with a black blazer and brown suede shoes — not his best look!
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were previously spotted in matching fleece jackets when they arrived for the race, which was sadly cancelled due to high winds.
Kate's look may be recycled, but it's still so chic!

These two are so adorable together — especially with those jackets!!
Princess Kate and Prince William may have dealt with harsh weather for the America's Cup sailing event over the weekend, but that didn't stop them from showing up and making a show of it in Portsmouth, England!
The two royals — who left the children behind in London — showed up to the sailing event only to have wind gusts of over 30 miles per hours cancel the entire day only an hour after their arrival!
But it was all good for Kate and William — they made a show of it in public, and even donned virtual reality headsets at one point, putting themselves in a sailing simulator to see what it's like on the high seas!
And can we talk about those matching fleece jackets?! LOVE!!

Prince George will have a birthday fit for — well, a prince!
On Tuesday, an insider shared how the darling royal was planning on spending his upcoming birthday.
A palace source shared:
" [ The Royals ] are spending the day privately in Norfolk."
And it seems the whole monarchy is looking forward to the event as the official Kensington Palace's Twitter account shared a new official portrait (above) for the Queen Elizabeth II's great-grandson's birthday.
Color us jealous!
A spokesperson for the royals explained:
We love when Prince William talks about his family!
In a recent interview, the second in line to the throne gets candid his new job as a helicopter pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity AND about his adorable little growing family!
The 33-year-old confirmed that Prince George is still as rambunctious as ever, saying:
"He's a little monkey."
But he described Princess Charlotte as being "…a little joy of heaven."
The Duke of Cambridge also mentioned that despite the difficulty of raising two little ones "…it is fantastic having a lovely little family and I am so thrilled."
Awww! We're so happy for him!
He also praised his wife Kate Middleton's mothering skills:
"Catherine has been doing an amazing job as a mother and I'm very proud of her."
We never doubted it!
And when asked if having a boy and a girl now affects plans of a third child, the prince said:
"We've only just had the second one. You never know what is going to happen in the future."
Obviously we support the birth of a third royal baby sometime in the future.

Royals, they're just like us!
Prince Philip let an f-bomb slip on Friday during a photocall in London! That's right, the 94-year-old Duke of Edinburgh cursed for all the photographers to hear!
During the photo op to honor the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, Queen Elizabeth II's husband clearly lost his patience while waiting around for someone to snap the shot.
First, the royal tells the cameraman to "just take it," but he couldn't keep his composure much longer, because he exclaimed:
Hold on to your hats — the first official photos of Princess Charlotte's christening are here!
We're weeping with joy right now!
And how cute is little Prince George with his hand in his hair?! LOLz!
Check out this BEAUTIFUL pic of Kate holding her little girl!
Leave it to Kate Middleton to look this fabulous only nine weeks after giving birth!
Obviously it helps that she's 5'10", though!
The Duchess and Prince William looked beautifully polished during Day 9 of the Wimbledon Championships in London on Wednesday.
The royal duo were cheering on British tennis player Andy Murray, naturally, who ended up winning!
Kate and Wills are total good luck charms! Ha!
We would probably feel so much pressure if a prince and princess were watching us play, but that's why we're not professional tennis players.
Anyway, K.Mid looked sleek and striking in a bright red L.K. Bennett knee-length dress, and her hair was looking even shinier than usual.
She's like Belle from Beauty and the Beast come to life!
