Ricky Gervais Hating On The Fat, Lagerfeld Approves

eat-dog.jpg

Comedian Ricky Gervais - who calls himself a "fucking fat bastard" - says that people who get liposuction and gastric band operations are, and we quote, "lazy fucking fat pigs."

In his audiobook, The Ricky Gervais Guide To Medicine, Gervais continues, "I really don't know why a doctor under a hippocratic oath takes the risk of something going badly wrong, sometimes with general anaesthetic, because someone can't be bothered to go for a fucking run."

He might have a point!

What we can't stand is when celebs lie-tell about "eating healthy and working out" to drop dress sizes and then later admit that they had a little surgical - or coke - help!

He also says that in order to help him lose weight, people shoud drop the PC and call him "Fatty" on the streets, so he'll be shamed into dropping the pounds. And to assist others in losing weight, he recommends that "in supermarkets, the really fattening stuff should be behind a really thin door. Shops should be full of salads, but if you want to get to the pies and cakes, you've got to crawl through a little tube."

Sounds like he and Karel Lagerfeld could be best anti-fatty friends!

Ricky Gervais Coming Back to U.K. TV!!!!

ricky1__opt.jpg

Ricky Gervais, the genius who brought us The Office and Extras, is working on a new TV show for you Brits.

Lucky ducks!

The show is actually an off-shoot of his upcoming film, The Man from the Pru.

The flick/TV show is based on a group of twenty-somethings in dead-end jobs at a British building society (a finance center that specializes in savings and mortgages) in the 1970s.

Gervais said the series will be “quintessentially British”.

If it does well in the UK, we're sure Hollywood will buy it and Americanize it for our masses!

2009 Oscar Host?

ricky1.jpg

British comedian and Office creator/producer Ricky Gervais' presenting gig was one of the few glimmers of light during Sunday's barely watched Emmy Awards ceremony.

His memorable appearance has done him some good as peeps in Hollywoodland are reportedly clamoring for the man to host next year's Oscars.

His reps have supposedly been besieged with inquiries about his availability and were urged to book a meeting with Academy Awards organizers.

Would he be the first Brit ever to serve as host?

Ricky is funny, but is he the right man for the job?

What do U think?

Standing Up to the Queen's Slaughter of Bears

ricky.jpg

It's no laughing matter to The Office funny man Ricky Gervais that it takes the entire hide of a bear to make one hat for the Queen's guards.

He teamed up with PETA and has asked the UK's Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, to replace the bear fur on the Queen's guards' caps with a cruelty-free material.

We're sure Stella McCartney can come up with something suitable!

Click here to check out the letter that Gervais wrote to Prime Minister Brown about the bears.

It's so not cool to be cruel to animals!
