Unlike the film industry, television prides itself in creating diverse and compelling storytelling these days.
But some networks are being called out for not stepping up to the diversity plate — specifically CBS, whose new ordered shows for the fall are exclusively starring white male actors.
The network's new fall schedule will include Bull starring Michael Weatherly; Kevin Can Wait starring Kevin James; The Great Indoors starring Joel McHale; Man With a Plan starring Matt LeBlanc; Pure Genius starring Augustus Prew and Dermot Mulroney; and MacGyver starring Lucas Till and George Eads.
Despite getting heat for an obviously macho lineup, the network's new entertainment head Glenn Geller defended the network's fall schedule during CBS's upfronts on Wednesday, telling reporters:
Someone get that girl a lightsaber!
Daisy Ridley made her Star Wars debut by kicking some serious ass in The Force Awakens.
But it looks like Rey's is well on her way to becoming a full on Jedi Master!
On Monday, the actress shared a video on Instagram showcasing some new combat techniques she picked up for Episode VIII.
And while Rey is being trained by Luke Skywalker in a galaxy far, far away, Ridley is learning her new skills from none other than a stormtrooper!
The British beauty picked up her latest swordplay tricks from "wushu fricking master" Liang Yang, a stunt performer who played First Order trooper FN-2199 in The Force Awakens.
Uh oh! We hope Mark Hamill doesn't find out his protege is getting lessons from the enemy!
Ch-ch-check out Ridley's new moves (below) and catch Star Wars: Episode VIII in theaters December 15, 2017!
The guns aren't the only things blazing!
On Tuesday MGM released the first photos from the upcoming Magnificent Seven remake, and hot damn!
Rounding out a VERY diverse Western cast are South Korean star Byung-Hun Lee, Native American Martin Sensmeier, and Mexican Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, as well as Daredevil's Kingpin Vincent D'Onofrio.
On September 23, the veteran gunslingers put their skills to use defending a poor village from bandits, as they did in the 1960 classic (and the movie THAT ONE was a remake of, 1954's Seven Samurai)!
Ch-ch-check out more pics of the brand new Magnificent Seven (above) and stay tuned for the first trailer on Wednesday!

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Kevin Randleman died on Thursday at 44.
According to reports, the MMA fighter was hospitalized with pneumonia and later passed away from heart failure.
Born in Ohio, Randleman was an early fixture of ultimate fighting and mixed martial arts, debuting in the UFC in 1999 — and three fights into his career was the heavyweight champion in the world!
Nicknamed "The Monster", the athlete later spent four years in Japan, where he became a fixture in PRIDE Fighting Championships.
After fading from the spotlight in the mid-2000s, he got involved with the Tapout Training Program.
Randleman attended the 8th annual Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts Awards in Las Vegas — where he had been living — on February 5, and reportedly looked like he was in good health.
The athlete is survived by his wife and three children. Our hearts go out to his friends and family during this devastating time.

Zoe Saldana is one hot momma!
Though the mother-of-two is the perfect cheerleader for moms looking to get their post baby bodies back into shape, she did have some help along the way.
As we previously reported, the Star Trek actress voiced her frustrations about getting fit after juggling her career while being a mom to her twins, Cy and Bowie. Eventually, Miz Saldana turned to celebrity trainer Ramona Braganza for assistance.
In fact, the instructor can be credited for helping the 37-year-old get ready for her latest ST film just nine months after giving birth. Whoa!
In a recent interview, Ramona shared:
Tom Daley is officially off the market!
On Thursday, the Olympic medalist and his boyfriend Dustin Lance Black quietly announced their engagement in The Times. Congratulations!
The twosome have been linked since the diver revealed he was gay on YouTube back in December 2013. LOVES it!
The announcement shared:
There's no question Eva Mendes is one busy lady!
The 41-year-old #GirlBoss is not only a new mom to Esmeralda Amada — the actress also has her own New York & Company fashion line, is the Creative Director of Circa makeup, and is the new face of Estée Lauder.
*takes deep breath*
With a schedule like that, it's no surprise that the Cuban American bombshell gets lots of help with baby Esmeralda from her family.
But it sounds like the Training Day actress and her heartthrob beau Ryan Gosling don't have much of a choice!
In Glam Belleza Latina's 2015 Fall issue, she shared:
"When my mom and sisters visit, they take over the house. They take my baby! They start cleaning everything! They sound like a bunch of hyenas, yelling in Spanish, English, Spanglish. They sing [my daughter Esmeralda] all these Cuban nursery songs that I forgot my mom used to sing to me. They're like a raucous crew."
