Just when it looks like the world of sports is taking a step forward in accepting homosexuality, it takes two GIANT steps back!
Jay Briscoe is a pro wrestler for the Ring of Honor, and his profile describes his am "controversial" and "outspoken," and based on some homophobic tweets he sent out we'd have to say they nailed it.
When Delaware recently passed a bill for marriage equality, the wrestler took to Twitter to share his thoughts, saying:
"The Delaware Senate passed a bill yesterday that allows same sex couples to get married. If that makes you happy, then congratulations!!!!!"
Nothing wrong here, right? Except he decided to follow-up that tweet with this:

When Jason Collins decided to come out of the closet and become the first gay active player in a major professional sport here in the U.S., we all knew there would be someone out there that would say something awful. We also knew, however, that there'd be waaaay more support than backlash!
Unfortunately, we were right about the first part too — and we told you about the ignorant thing that Mike Wallace, who plays for the Miami Dolphins, tweeted out:
“All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with other guys SMH (shakin' my head) …”
Not cool, right? Well the Dolphins agree with us and the rest of the world as they have condemned Mike's tweet, and have decided to distance themselves from him!
Here's what the Dolphins said:

Congrats, Mike Wallace! You win the award for First Insensitive And Homophobic Tweet after Jason Collins revealed to the world that he's gay!
Regardless if they play different sports, this is EXACTLY why people haven't been strong enough to come out until now!
Here's what Mike Wallace of the Miami Dolphins had to say now that Jason is the first gay male athlete out and proud as a current major professional sports player (for the NBA):

… for saying "F**K LEBRON!"
Really? Out of all the things you said, THAT'S what you're sorry for??
If you haven't been following along, Lil Wayne has been in a lil' tizzy (dibs on the rap name!) with the NBA and some of its hottest stars! At a recent performance in Houston, he told all his fans that the NBA banned him from attending any hoop events because he was cheering for the Lakers at a Miami Heat game.
Too bad that's complete bullshizz!
He then dropped many a F-BOMB on Dwayne Wade and Lebron James and even said

Seems like Lance Armstrong might be trying to make right everything that's gone wrong in his life.
With his BIG/EXCLUSIVE/OMG/NO WAY Oprah interview coming up, he must be getting ready to own up to his past actions!
We previously mentioned that, according to an anonymous source, Lance will finally be admitting to the doping allegations!!
He allegedly met with Livestrong staffers right before heading to his big Oprah interview.
Lance reportedly got choked up and said

While all the ring hiding and absences point to some marital troubles between Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, nothing has been verified yet.
Unless you take Orlando hiding out in a snowboarding shop for two hours as a sign!

Ryan Lochte's sister earned herself a lot of criticism over the past few days.
After a video of her giving an extremely ignorant interview made its way around the internet, Megan Lochte's words hurt and offended countless viewers.
But now she's saying her 2008 interview was just a spoof. And even though she appeared in the video under her real name, she says she was playing a character.
To apologize for her post-Beijing Olympics trip, she issued this statement:
"I would like to apologize for the video that is circulating. This was not a real interview, and it in no way reflects my true feelings or persona whatsoever. During that time, I played a character on a television comedy show called Closing Time TV, which was a show with different comedy skits, fake news skits and staged interviews. The video in question reflects a skit from the show in which I acted as an ignorant guest on a talk show that made ignorant comments. The intent was to make fun of the ignorance of people who actually do not have an understanding of other cultures and speak in racist ways. The skit and my character were supposed to be making fun of ignorance."
Well. We can only hope she's being sincere here. But if that was intended to be satire, they could have made it a little clearer from the beginning.
