More Children's Jewelry Found To Be Toxic

Looks like Miley Cyrus isn't the only one whose jewelry line was toxic to little kids.

According to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, there's just been another recall of children's jewelry.

Though this time it's related to charm bracelets and rings given out for free at doctor and dentist offices.

Apparently, over the past five years, more than 70,000 "Children's Happy Charm Bracelets" and rings were handed out. Unfortunately, they contained high levels of toxic metal cadmium.

Parents are being urged to throw out the contaminated jewelry.

Whatever happened to doctors handing out stickers and lollipops or a free toothbrush from the dentist?

McDonald's Recalls Shrek Glasses!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooFilm Flickers

Uh, oh!

McDonald's has recalled the 12 million collectible drinking glasses to promote the latest Shrek movie because the painted design on the glasses contains cadmium.

Cadmium is VERY toxic and is used in producing paint, coatings, batteries and other things humans shouldn't be consuming.

Parents, throw that shiz away!

Miley Banned! Finally!

Yesterday we mentioned how Walmart was selling Miley Cyrus jewelry which apparently contained high levels of cadmium.

Even more surprising was the fact that Walmart kept selling the items despite learning of the high toxicity levels back in February!

In April they issued a statement that they would be requiring its suppliers to show tests that the items have low amounts of cadmium, but they weren't applying the new policy to items already on the shelves because it was too "diifficult" to test.

But finally some good news. Walmart has just pulled Miley's line from its shelves.

In a new statement released by Walmart, the company now says:

"We are removing all of the jewelry from sale while we investigate its compliance with our children's jewelry standard."

It's about time!

Consumer safety should always be their first concern.

Miley Cyrus' Jewelry Is Toxic!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooMiley CyrusJewelry

This isn't good!

Walmart is apparently selling Miley Cyrus jewelry that contains high levels of cadmium.

Cadmium exposure can occur when the wearer either bites, chews or sucks on the jewelry and the effects are debilitating! Long term exposure to the metal can lead to bone softening, kidney failure, and potentially hinder brain development in the young children.

What's even worse is that Walmart has continued to sell the items after they were informed back in February of the high toxicity levels!

They issued a statement in April that they are now requiring its suppliers to show tests that the baubles have low amounts of cadmium, but they aren't applying the new policy to items already on the shelves because it's too "diifficult" to test.

Again, WTF!?

Walmart also says that the jewelry in question is intended for "juniors", without giving it an age range.

Kind of a bullshiz response because we all know Miley's character Hannah Montana appeals to even little kids!

Hopefully they rethink their policy and pull the items.
