We just recently mentioned that the rate which Americans are being diagnosed with diabetes is climbing at an alarming rate.

Diabetes rates have gone up over 100% over the past 15 years in 18 states!!

As a 350-plus-pound man, someone like Shaq might seem like he's at risk.

But people forget that he's 7'1" and was a world-class athlete!

He only has 13% body fat! That's waaaay less than most people even half his weight!

Shaq wants to do what he can to help fight the obesity epidemic and stop the climbing rates of diabetes.

An anti-obesity group is claiming that by 2030, over half the people in 39 states will be obese.

Not just overweight… OBESE!

An example would be Mississippi, who currently has a 35% obesity rate. They believe that by 2030, 67% of Mississippi's population will be obese.

These crazy projections were released by Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, two organizations who try to raise awareness of the obesity epidemic.

We feel like these numbers might be a little inflated to strike fear into the hearts of the population.

They believe that by 2030, medical costs to treat obesity related diseases will jump from $18 billion a year (the current figure) to $66 billion a year!

That's crazy!

We really hope that's not true but unless something is done about the average American's diet, we might actually hit those numbers!
