We are big fan of Dami Im!
We first mentioned her two years ago in this post. Now, the X Factor Oz champ is representing Australia in the Eurovision song contest. Yes, Australia is now competing!
And, yes, her song is really good! That means it won't win. Eurovision doesn't usually reward good songs!
Check out her big pop power ballad Sound Of Silence above!
This is totally a Kelly Clarkson or Celine Dion type of power jam! Or Heart!
Who would have thought she'd be an international superstar just six years later?!
Well… she wasn't exactly average — she still had that voice!
In fact, Rita actually auditioned to be the UK representative at Eurovision with the song Get Here when she was just 18 years old… and she won!
Luckily for her, a wise-beyond-her-years Rita turned down the opportunity to sing an Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber original at the European competition because she could tell her career would probably be over at that point.
Seeing as she's currently a judge on X Factor… we'd say she was right! LOLz!
Ch-ch-check out Rita's Eurovision: Your Country Needs You audition (below)!!!
We first introduced you to Loreen back in April of last year in this post - before she went on to win the Eurovision contest with Euphoria, an actually GREAT song that broke the streak of crappy tunes that kept winning!
Loreen is back and just as good! Yup, those Swedes do their power pop very well - literally!
Check out We Got The Power (above)! It's very reminiscent - in the best way possible - of fellow Swedes Icona Pop!
Love! Love! Love!
This is getting a little fishy!!!
Well, that ban might be hard to enforce because Galliano flat out denies ever agreeing to design a dress!
Last week Moran Mazor told a radio station her stylist, Gili Algabi, reached out to several designers, but John's publicist Liz Rosenberg says there was never any "official correspondence" between her client or the stylist.
Rosenberg said in an email:
It seems like sometimes saying sorry and acting contrite is just not enough.
The designer was all set to dress Moran Mazor, a Eurovision contestant from Israel, after her stylist "reached out to several international designers among them John Galliano. Fortunately, he accepted the challenge of designing a dress."
But once the Israel Broadcasting Authority, who sponsors Israel's participation and broadcasts the show, got wind of the deal, they banned her from wearing his designs.
The IBA's Yoav Ginai fired off a memo to Moran's agent, saying:
