Retired Lab Chimps See Sunlight For The First Time!!

We absolutely hate that any animal is tested on.

Living their lives stuck in cages, being poked and prodded for years and years is the cruelest torture.

That's why it's so so so amazing when those animals get freed!

It's even more ahmayzing when 111 chimps are freed at the same time!

Over the next 12 to 15 months, lab chimps are going to be set free and live out the rest of their lives at Chimp Haven, a gorgeous sanctuary in Keithville, Louisiana.

These chimps get to see the sky and feel grass for the first time!

They can socialize and groom one another with no bars between them too.

It's really beautiful!

Check out the video (above) to see the chimps staring at the sky in absolute awe!

Police Find Runaway Elephants At A Bus Stop

Blending in fail!

Two runaway circus elephants in Germany surprised passersby and police by showing up at a bus stop during a brief bid for freedom.

Dunia, a 40-year-old Indian elephant, and her counterpart Daela, a 25-year-old African elephant, were apprehended by police near the western city of Hanover over the weekend nonchalantly munching on tree leaves and looking for all the world as if they were waiting for the bus.

The pair had escaped from their enclosure at a nearby traveling circus and walked some 50 meters (165 feet) to the stop, police said.

Hanover police spokesman Heiko Steiner said:

"It was simply an unlucky situation for the circus. The two elephants were quite cooperative and peaceful. Everyone was amused."

Tony, The Gas Station Tiger, Gets His Freedom

tony the tiger wins freedom

Grrrrreat!

Tony, the 10-year-old Siberian Bengal tiger who's been kept in a small cage at the Tiger Truck Stop in Louisiana, for four years has finally been granted freedom!

On Friday, a District Judge granted the Animal Legal Defense Fund's (ALDF) request for a permanent injunction against the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), preventing them from renewing the annual permit that allows the gas station owner to keep Tony after December 14.

Unbeknownst to Tony, he's garnered the attention of people around the world who have been fighting to have him freed from the concrete cell he's spent his entire life in.
