Kentucky Moves To Approve Hemp Legalization!

kentucky hemp production legalization legal matter state farmers industry

Believe it or not, squares, but hemp is actually a VERY versatile material!

Now, Kentucky farmers might be able to grow hemp for a variety of products — because a vote passed the state Senate on Thursday! It isn't just some hippie material, and it has a lot of promise as an industry. That is, if the skepticism from the governor and Kentucky State Police don't ruin the chances completely!

Still, the latest 31-6 vote is very promising and could make Kentucky among the first in the nation to legalize the crop, potentially creating thousands of hemp-related jobs growing and processing the plant's fiber and seeds.

The problem is, people are afraid of it because it's a relative to marijuana!

Milk is super delicious and super good for you!!

Unless you're lactose intolerant of course!

The milk industry is saying they're in a crisis! Milk consumption has dropped almost 30% since 1975.

With all different types of bottled waters and vitamin infused beverages, people are forgetting about good ol' moo juice. It's so healthy for you!

Do your part to help the farmers and have a big glass of chocolate milk today! Don't worry, we'll give you this one cheat beverage today. (Though we do recommend making it skim.)

Check out the video (above) to learn some of the reasons behind the decline.

Largest Supermarket Chain In The U.S. Stops Selling Pink Slime

Filed under: Icky Icky PooBusiness BlitzFood

kroger pink slime

We're so glad food retailers are making the RIGHT decision by ending the sale of beef that includes what the meat companies call "lean, finely textured beef," and what we call "gross."

Kroger, the largest chain of supermarkets in the U.S., has announced it will no longer purchase beef with pink slime, an ammonia-treated filler/cheap and disgusting substitute for real meat.

The grocery giant released a statement explaining their decision that reads:

"Our customers have expressed their concerns that the use of lean finely textured beef — while fully approved by the USDA for safety and quality — is something they do not want in their ground beef. As a result, Kroger will no longer purchase ground beef containing lean finely textured beef."

Thank you!

Kroger has joined Safeway, the second-largest supermarket chain, in their initiative, along with Dutch-owned chain Stop & Shop.

Does your store still sell pink slime? Don't buy it! Tell the managers you want ACTUAL meat and you'll take your business elsewhere if they don't get it.

Deciding If A Gluten-Free Diet Is Right For You

Gluten free food

The $2.6 billion gluten-free food market is continuing to grow. Not only are more gluten-free products appearing on the grocery store shelves, but even restaurants are beginning to offer entire menus of gluten-free food.

This is great for the 1% of Americans suffering from celiac disease — an autoimmune disorder that interferes with absorption of nutrients — and also beneficial for anyone who has gluten allergies. However, can the rest of the population benefit from a gluten-free diet?

Unfortunately for us
