Indie Band Viola Beach's Debut Album Set To Reach #1 — Months After All 4 Members Died In Tragic Car Accident
Six months ago, the members of British indie band Viola Beach were tragically killed when their car plummeted 80 feet off a bridge.
But it looks like the rock group's legacy will live on, because their debut album is set to reach number one on the UK Charts.
Before their untimely deaths, singer Kris Leonard, guitarist River Reeves, bassist Tomas Lowe, and drummer Jack Dakin recorded a number of tracks — which have now been released by family and friends of the four musicians.
According to The Official Charts Company, the band's self-titled album is currently 6,000 sales ahead of the current number one, Electric Light Orchestra's All Over the World: the Very Best Of.
The album Viola Beach is made up of nine songs, including the band's lead single Boys That Sing.
Music magazine NME praised the collection as a record that "will leave a smile on your face," saying in the review:
