Boom! Another counterfeiter is ordered to pay up!

Coach has won a lawsuit against 573 websites that were selling counterfeit goods, and the sites were ordered to pay $257 million!

Since the websites are run illegally, Coach likely won’t see much of this money, but it’s the principles that made it a victory.

The judge ruled that the websites must be shut down, and

MAC Collects $90 Million Judgment From Chinese Cybersquatters!

Cybersquatters just don't know when to stop!

A group of Chinese cybersquatters selling bootleg MAC products and cosmetics on more than 100 websites had the book thrown in a New York courtroom this week after not responding to a lawsuit filed by beauty company in April.

The cyber seller's silence made Judge Ronnie Abrams' job a lot easier, and automatically awarded MAC $90 million as well as a permanent injunction that will shut down the infringing sites.

In addition, the judge ordered

Michael Kors Wins Against Counterfeit Websites!

And another cybersquatter bites the dust.

Michael Kors has emerged victorious in his counterfeit lawsuit against 35 websites selling infringing products with the brand's trademark!

Judge Shira Scheindlin (remember her?) awarded the designer $2.4 million, which is peanuts compared to UGG Australia and Burberry, but the important thing is that it’s another step to shutting down the counterfeiters!

Joseph Gioconda, the attorney representing this case and others like it, said of the legal win:

"Basically, as these cases have progressed, the defendants are consistently not cooperating with the courts. The courts have found that they are not participating in the process in any way. The damages award is largely a symbolic gesture… The more stuff counterfeiters can throw up on the Web, the harder it is for the brand owner. They have more resources, more people and more time. The brand owner is in a very difficult position. It gets to the point where they throw up their hands and want to give up, but they can’t do that."

We’re glad Mr. Kors refused to back down and won the battle, even if it's a relatively small one.

PayPal Shuts Down Secret Santa Charity Fund To Help Children In Need

paypal-shuts-down-regretsy-charity-fund.jpg

Way to ruin Christmas, PayPal.

The site has been getting a ton of negative feedback from customers after shutting down a Secret Santa charity drive on the popular website Regretsy. LAME!

Last month, the website's owner began a charity drive on the website to donate money to children in need.

200 children were to receive Christmas gifts paid for by donors. But, when she put the "Donate" button instead of the "Buy" button on the profitable site, PayPal shut down the drive, gave all the money back, and froze her account.

When word got around of the evil PayPal's doing, people began blasting the site. LUCKILY, PayPal realized they were in the wrong and decided to make a donation to Regretsy to help families in need during the holiday season.

Regretsy's owner, April Winchell, said she did have an "encouraging" conversation with PayPal. She added:

"I am extremely grateful to all of you for your efforts. If Paypal is sincere about allowing us to make these gifts, you will have made a difference for 200 children and their families this holiday season."

Phew! Thank goodness Christmas isn't canceled this year!

And kudos to you, April, for doing such a noble deed for children. Bravo!

snoop starts trust fund for nate doggs family

Such a nice gesture! These two were clearly very close friends.

As a further tribute to Nate Dogg, who passed away at the tragically young age of 41 earlier this month, Snoop has set up a trust fund for Nate's family "for expenses of services and the financial security of Nate's children. 100% of all donations will be given to Nate Dogg's family."

Snoop is accepting donations to the Nate Dogg Memorial Fund via PayPal, postal mail, or in person.

Very sweet of you, Snoop. We're sure his family sincerely appreciates it.

Will U donate to the Nate Dogg Memorial Fund?
